About the Author – reaperDoc
I am an aspiring writer and IT student who expresses emotion and self-reflection through storytelling. My works often explore personal challenges, empathy, and the importance of mental resilience. Struggled to Adjust is my way of transforming personal pain into a meaningful message about growth, understanding, and choosing peace over anger.
About the Story
Struggled to Adjust is a fictional story inspired by my real-life emotions and personal experiences. It reflects what isolation, disconnection, and unresolved anger can feel like from the inside.
At its core, this story is about emotional struggle, mental health, and the consequences of choices made in moments of pain. It highlights how empathy, friendship, and timely support can help someone find a safer path.
I wrote this to transform difficult feelings into reflection instead of harm. While the plot and characters are fictionalized, the emotional truth comes from lived experience. Through writing, I chose patience, responsibility, and personal growth.
This work is not meant to glorify violence or despair. It is meant to encourage awareness, compassion, and healthier ways of coping when emotions feel overwhelming.
This story also draws inspiration from various Filipino crime and thriller films. However, it does not glorify tragedy or violence; rather, it uses fiction as a way to explore human emotions, consequences, and the importance of compassion. The goal is to promote awareness about mental health, empathy, and the impact of social isolation.
Author's Notes
This story reflects emotional struggle, not a literal record of real events. It emphasizes self-awareness, accountability, and responsible choices during periods of anger, fear, or loneliness.
My intent in writing Struggled to Adjust is to remind others that even during times of isolation, there are always better ways to cope. Communication, friendship, and empathy can save lives – and creativity can heal the heart.
